What a cruise! It was smooth sailing for the cast and crew of this the 18th production of Stratford Community Players. Most performances were played to sold out houses at the City Hall Auditorium.
Here's an excerpt from the review in the Beacon Herald:
"The Stratford Community Players opened Anything Goes at the Stratford City Hall auditorium with energy and humour and an enthusiastic delivery of Cole Porter's well-known tunes and lyrics....Alison Enns as Reno Sweeny enchanted the audience with her magnificent voice in such delicious numbers as Let's Misbehave and I Get a Kick out of You. And her delightful seduction of the stuffy Englishman (played to the hilt by Scott Mountain) was a hightlight of the show.....Shannon Carroll played Hope Harcourt with passion and sensitivity...Derek Barnes showed a real aptitude for comedy...Peter Klassen was outrageously funny as Moonface Martin. His behaviours kept the audience in stitches....Cynthia Nowak as the vociferous Bonnie led a terrific number - Heaven Hop - with the Girls and entertained all with her antics. As well, Katie Diotallevi was strong in the role of the wealthy matron with social ambitions."
